As far as neighborhoods go, we recommend Miraflores, San Isidro, or Barranco, all with great hotel and Airbnb options. That said, to keep the small group feel of the weekend, we’d love for everyone to stay at the same hotel: SOUMA Lima, Vignette Collection by IHG. You’ll find details below for the room block (November 25–29), which includes daily breakfast. We’ll also have a shuttle from the hotel to our party at Museo Larco and our tour of Lima’s historic center.
Stay
SOUMA Lima, Vignette Collection by IHG
Mal. 28 de Julio 385, Lima 15074
We’ve reserved a block of rooms at Souma Hotel, with standard rooms at $140 and premium city view rooms at $180 per night, plus taxes. Both include breakfast for two each morning and free cancellation until October 1. Book here.
Of course, you’re also welcome to browse other room options directly on the hotel’s site.
Getting there
Flying
Fly into Jorge Chávez International Airport (LIM), Lima’s main (and recently expanded!) airport. It’s about 30–45 minutes from Miraflores, San Isidro, and Barranco, depending on traffic.
At the airport, we recommend using one of the official taxi services, such as “Taxi Green” for smooth and reliable transport to the hotel. Staff typically speak English and will guide you to a secure taxi. If you’d prefer to pre-arrange a pickup, we’re happy to share a trusted local driver/service—just let us know.
Getting around
Uber and Cabify are the easiest and most reliable ways to get around Lima. Walking is also great within each neighborhood, but getting between neighborhoods is best by car.
